Spend your vacation in our comfortably furnished lakefront house in Nokomis, Florida.
Nokomis is centrally located on Florida's Gulf Coast, just south of bustling Sarasota and north of the quaint "old Florida" town of Venice.
Our house is on a cul-de-sac on a quiet and well-kept family neighborhood street. A small picturesque lake, often crowded with egrets, woodstorks, and herons, borders the backyard, which is partly shaded by a giant live oak and a tall palm tree.
We are a five minute drive to Nokomis Beach on the Gulf of Mexico.
A slightly longer drive takes you to famous Siesta Key Beach and other beaches and vacation attractions in and around Sarasota and Venice.
Historic Spanish Point and Oscar Scherer State Park are just a few miles up the road, and Florida's largest state park, Myakka River Park, is about a half hour drive.
ABOUT THE HOME:
The master bedroom has a queen-size bed. One bedroom has a twin bed, and the other bedroom has two twin beds, which can also be made up as a double if desired. All bedrooms and the living room have ceiling fans. The large living/dining room has comfortable seating plus a full-size dining table. The furnishings and décor are "casual Florida."
The entire house has new ceramic tile floors, accented by attractive area rugs. Both bathrooms have combination tub/showers. The air conditioning/heating system is new, and the house also has a washer and dryer. There is a small wooden deck at ground level for outside dining, and a park bench at the water's edge for relaxing or birdwatching.
Bed linens and beach towels are provided, plus a full complement of kitchen utensils, tableware, dishes, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee-maker. There's a new flat screen TV with cable service, plus DVD player. There's a second TV plus VCR in the master bedroom. We also have an unlimited-use broadband Internet connection - just turn on your wireless-enabled laptop!
And the telephone service includes free nationwide long distance!

The layout is ideal for a family or two couple group, because there are two discrete and well-separated sleeping areas in the house.
Entering through the front door, you are facing the Living Room. Turn right into the Dining Room, and continue through the Dining Room to the Kitchen.

A short hallway off the Dining Room takes you past the Main Bath, then towards two bedrooms -- the Green Bedroom and the Blue Bedroom.
The Green Bedroom has a twin bed, plus a comfy chair and ottoman for reading or relaxing.
The Blue Bedroom has two twin beds, which can be pushed together and made up as a double if desired.

Now walk back through the Dining Room and Kitchen to the other end of the house. This is the entrance to the Master Bedroom. It has its own bathroom, with a combination shower/tub and vanity.

There's even a large Storage Area for your luggage, etc. And please feel free to use our bikes to explore the neighborhood, or for the 10-minute ride to Nokomis Beach!
You'll probably spend a lot of time on the Deck, lazing in the sunshine filtering through the mammoth live oak tree.
Or move out to the park bench at the lake's edge and relax with a glass of wine at dusk!

GETTING THERE:
You can fly into the Sarasota airport, which is about a half hour from our house, or you can often find lower airfares to either Tampa or Fort Myers, each about an hour away. Exit 195 from Interstate 75 feeds you onto Laurel Road a short distance from our house.
